DIY Curtain Rod

I had got a nice pair of curtains and was so excited to hang them but after looking all over online for a curtain rod, I decided to try to make one.  To buy one that is 6 feet would've cost me about $50 for one I didn't even like.  For one I did like would've been more like $100.  So I decked all over online for DIY ideas.  There was a very cool curtain rod made from galvanized plumbing material.  I'd still like to do that, maybe in my dining room and living room.  But that was still too much for budget right now.

So I went to a bigger lumber store and found a 1" x 72" dowel and some screw in hooks and in total cost me $17!  I took it home, stained it with what I had and I also hand a spray paint clear coat and that was it.  My husband and I put it up and covered the hooks with the curtain and I just love it.  Classic, simple and very affordable!
